Heyward Allen Toyota Reviews 2019 Toyota 4Runner SR5

February 1st, 2019 by

For more than 30 years, the Toyota 4Runner has been known for its off-road capability. With body-on-frame construction and a 4.0L V6 engine that provides 270 horsepower and 278 foot-pounds of torque, the new 4Runner is still equipped for off-road adventures.

The Toyota 4Runner SR5 comes standard with 17 inch six-spoke alloy wheels. There is a standard tire pressure monitoring system that notifies the driver when the tire pressure is dangerously low. In the event of a flat tire, the 4Runner is equipped with a full-sized spare to prevent a driver from relying on a temporary tire to get back home from an adventure.

For those off-road adventures, there are skid plates under the car to help protect the engine, the front suspension, and the fuel tank. The 4Runner has a multi-terrain select feature that allows the driver to choose from four modes to help provide for maximum traction control in a variety of off-road situations. The Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) and the Crawl Control are features that help the 4Runner to maintain traction no matter how uneven the terrain may get. For those times when starting on a hill is necessary, the hill start assist control helps keep the vehicle from rolling backward as the driver begins to accelerate on a steep incline. Also available is a downhill assist control that brakes on a steep or slippery slope to keep speed under control when travelling downward. The Toyota 4Runner SR5 comes with an integrated navigation system to give turn-by-turn directions as well as traffic and weather updates right on the 6.1-inch touch-screen display.
