Toyota Prius v and Ford C-Max Comparison

May 14th, 2018 by

When it comes to hybrids, you’ve got more choices these days. Just in the Toyota family, there are many hybrid sizes for different types of drivers. One of our favorites is the Toyota Prius v wagon. We’ll see how the v stands up to the Ford C-Max in this brief review.

Performance
The Toyota Prius v earns slightly better fuel economy. It gets 1 extra mile per gallon for both city and highway for a total of 43 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. The Ford C-Max has higher horsepower but it weighs more. This levels the playing field due to the weight-to-horsepower ratio. Get behind the wheel at Heyward Allen Toyota dealer serving Athens GA.

Size
If you want the most value for your money, the Prius has the spaciousness you need for both people and cargo. The Prius v can haul more thanks to its 34-cu.ft. cargo hold. The C-Max is rated for 24.5 cubic feet. When you are packing for a trip, you’ll notice the difference.

Safety
The Prius v has more crash avoidance features than the C-Max. If you want Dynamic Radar Control, a Lane Departure Alert, or automatic high beams, you can only find them on the Prius v. Furthermore, the Toyota offers a forward collision warning with visual and audible warnings. It is backed up by an automatic braking system that uses radar and a camera to determine if the situation is an emergency. Furthermore, the Prius v has eight airbags and exclusive whiplash-lessening seats.
